Chronicle 1833-1838 [manuscript] / Jacob R. Elfreth.

The chronicle reports on such matters as strikes in Philadelphia, some history of Westtown School, the Texas-Mexico war, a description of Elfreth's house and lot, lynchings in the South, a good bit about the weather and many other topics. In greatest depth is an account of the burning of Pennsylvania Hall and connections with anti-slavery, including the presence of Angelina and Sarah Grimke and a speech by William Garrison at the Hall, and the fact that no water was used to douse the fire at Pennsylvania Hall and other incidents of mob destruction.
